Scorpio Mining's Drilling at Nuestra Senora Mine Reports 42.2 metres grading 198.03 g/t Silver, 1.37% Copper, 1.98% Lead and 3.35% Zinc

Vancouver, May 06, 2010 - Scorpio Mining Corporation ("Scorpio", or the "Company") (TSX: SPM), announces underground drill results at its Nuestra Señora Mine, Mexico.

Peter J. Hawley, Chairman, CEO reports, "The Company's underground drilling budget for 2010 is set for 20,000 metres, including exploration and delineation drilling. Partial assay results have been received for drilling to date from the 9th Level, which lies 180 metres vertically below the 3rd Level ramp access portal. The targeted area was previously called the "Jewel Box" zone and for mining terms is now called the "M-05" zone. Further infill drilling will be completed in this area in order to incorporate the mineralization into our mine planning for cut and fill extraction in 2011."
